Excuse me....this stupid blog, that said I lost my post, published both of them.  Argggg.  Sorry.
Ok.  I just found my lost post.  But, you know what?  My new one covered it with fewer words, which, according to all my English profs. is what you're supposed to accomplish.  so, I'll not publish it.
OK....I just fricking lost my whole post.  I am the worst blogger ever!!!!
I am tired, so, a recap.
Granddaughter lost her grandpa on the east coast.
Mom-In-law moved in state, and infirm.
Ate poorly.
Came back eating healthier than ever (it involves trout for lunch, for pete's sake).
Two great dinner menus.  Too tired to rewrite.
Perfected mashed cauliflower for shepherd's pie.
Drinking wine.
Might be why I can't figure how to work a blog.
I feel better on our diet, than the one I was eating this weekend.  It involved husband coming home with 4 giant Wendy's chocolate frosties.  He ate 3.
More later.  You should have seen the whole blog.

So. I did pretty well in eating, today, considering the stress the family has been under lately--moving mom-in-law up from another state, having to put her in the hospital, now she's in a nursing facility, next week?....wait and see!
I should say, "I" did well.  Apparently, my husband has been using the stress excuse to eat objectionable food at work.  He won't tell me what, but I did find a Dairy Queen wrapper in the car that I'm pretty sure was wrapped around a large soft serve chocolate cone.
That's ok.  I ate protein for breakfast, protein for lunch, yummy Thai coconut soup with chicken and veggies for dinner.  And, now, gin and whatever fizzy bottle of water is in the fridge.  He just asked me what I was drinking, and, I told him.  But I didn't tell him where the bottle was.  How's that chocolate cone tasting now?
Paleo eating is very soothing, calming.  I swear, I've read  many paleo/primals who become very calm and unfeeling eating mainly protein.  I think this is kind of good.  It makes handling things like aging parents with a little more finesse.
Oh, and, thanks mom and dad for having us at a very young age!

I guess I should follow up my first post by explaining I've tried to start a blog, apparently, at least 2 other times, where I may have been under the influence, and never actually posted anything.  I tried to start this blog under the name of "Paleograndma" and found there was already a user of that name.  On searching further, I realized the user was me.  I never did it.  Oh, well, my grandkids call me Mam.  So be it.

I am a paleo grandma

Wow. I didn't even think I could create a blog, and, here I am.
I guess I should say, off the bat, I am a wife, mom, and grandma (Mam), who has adopted the paleo/primal lifestyle. Except for the Crossfit part--I'm not brave enough for that. Yet. I keep throwing terms at my trainer (twice a week) like "I want to kettleball", at which he replies, "Um, it's Kettlebell." Oops. sorry. I'll try to watch that. Then, he told me to do jumping jacks for 10 minutes. I haven't tried it yet, but I plan to.
I love the paleo/primal stuff I've been reading for the last 4 or 5 months. And, I've converted my husband of 34 years, also. We might not adhere 100% of the time, but, we try. I've ordered most of the paleo/primal cookbooks, eg, Mark Sissons, Everyday Paleo, Paleo Comfort Food, and, (so exciting) Food Lover's book out this week. I can't wait!
How did my family react to this change? Well, they met it with mistrust. Grandkids don't understand why Mam doesn't make cookies anymore. Kids don't get why I don't make pies, cupcakes, lots of mashed potatoes, rice, beans, bread, etc. But you know what? I like the way I feel. And, I like that I can feel full and not count calories. And, I like that I can carry my 5 year old, taller than the normal 5 year old, down the stairs, and, she says "Wow, Mam, you're really strong. Pretty soon you'll be as strong as my daddy!" Her daddy is 6 foot something, and looks like Atlas.
So, on this blog, I hope I can figure out how to use technology, maybe post pics of meals, links, etc., and, maybe help some of you older folks who might be skittish about trying this lifestyle.
ps: I might try Crossfit, someday. Maybe. I'm pretty lazy.
